Invaders and Royals were triumphant on Wednesday night in the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association Local League.

Coming up against the Sharks in the Men’s Division, Invaders were equally matched as both teams traded blows in the first set, but Sharks were able to clinch the first set 25-23.

However, Invaders came back strong in the second set to win 25-10 to take the match square one all. Determined to protect their domain, Sharks took the lead again to win the third set 25-16.

With the match score at two – one in favour of the Sharks, Invaders levelled the match again two-all with a 25-19 win of the fourth set.

In the tie breaker, Sharks could not keep up with Invaders and were beaten 15-6.

Invaders won the encounter three two which lasted one hour and 36 minutes.

Stoneville went under to Royal Cruisers in Division One of the Women’s League with a 3-1 loss. They lost the first set 14-25 but won the second set 25-17.

Stoneville then lost the final two sets 14-25 and 22-25 as their lacklustre 2024 season continued.

The match lasted one hour and 38 minutes.
