Indian businessman Prakashcandra Lohar will be sentenced on January 31, 2025, after being found guilty of indecent assault.

Initially scheduled for December 13, the hearing was postponed due to scheduling conflicts and the need for Lohar’s attorney, to review the probation report thoroughly before presenting a mitigation plea.

Lohar was convicted of two counts of indecent assault stemming from a February 12, 2022, incident.

He had offered a woman a ride during rainy weather, after which she accused him of committing sexual acts in her presence.

Alexander expressed disappointment that sentencing could not occur before the new year but emphasized the importance of a comprehensive defence.
