    Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force Kicks Off Basic Recruit Course 2025

    **ABDF:** The Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) officially launched its Basic Recruit Course 2025-01 (BRC 25-01) at a spirited opening ceremony held at Camp Blizard on February 17th 2025.

    The event marked the beginning of a rigorous and transformative training journey for 27 new recruits.

    The ceremony was led by Major T. Lake, who welcomed the recruits with a warm introduction, setting the stage for the course ahead. Lieutenant Che’vaughn Pigott, the Course Officer, took the opportunity to introduce the training team, consisting of 10 experienced ABDF soldiers, including 4 Sergeants, 1 Corporal, 4 Lance Corporals, and 1 Private.

    In his address, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Brigadier Telbert Benjamin emphasized the expectations and responsibilities that come with being a part of the ABDF as he officially declared BRC 25-01 open, inspiring the recruits to embark on a path of discipline, dedication, and excellence.
