The National Student Council of Antigua and Barbuda (NSCAB) has officially elected its first executive body following the High Council meeting held on Tuesday 11th January, 2025.
The results mark a new chapter in student representation and governance, with student leaders from various education institutions across the country assuming key positions.
Ti-Ikha Edwards of Clare Hall Secondary has been elected as the President, securing 33 confidence votes.
The Vice President role will be held by Carlique Tobias from the Antigua Grammar School, while Nickquane Theodore of Princess Margaret School has been named General Secretary. Other elected officials include:
• Treasurer: Giovanna Roberts (Clare Hall Secondary)
• Public Relations Officer: Serina Nathaniel (Irene B. Williams Secondary)
• External Affairs Officer: Tekyra Richards (Antigua Girls’ High School)
• Logistics Officer: Kiarra Gordon (Glanvilles Secondary)
• District Officers:
o District 1: Jayden Johnson (Antigua Grammar School)
o District 2: Keon Browne (Pares Secondary)
o District 3: Jahmoy Jeremy (Jennings Secondary)
o District 4: Nequan Tanner (Irene B. Williams Secondary)
• Training Officer: Delisha Thomas (Antigua Girls’ High School)
• Secondary Schools’ Representative: Rhannah Edwards (Princess Margaret School)
• Primary Schools’ Representative: Sommer Teague (Freemans Ville Primary)
The new Executive received training on advocacy and administration on the 20th February 2025 at the National Public Library. During the session the team received courtesy calls from the Honourable Minister of Education, Daryll Matthew and Director of Education Clare Browne.
The National Student Council will serve as a platform for students to engage in democratic leadership, ensuring their voices are heard on issues affecting education and student welfare.
The newly elected Executive Council is committed to fostering a vibrant and inclusive student governance system across Antigua and Barbuda.
