All Saints United got off to a dominant start in the Antigua and Barbuda Netball Association (ABNA) Village Netball Series with a blowout 48-29 victory over Swetes Village when they met in the competition’s opening match at the Swetes community court on Sunday.

National goal shoot Rayana Regis led the charge for All Saints United with a near perfect 46 goals from 48 attempts. Zaine Frederick and Paula Jackson both assisted with one of three attempts each.

In a losing effort, national player, Jamila Fitz sank 16 of 26 attempts in the goal shoot position while goal attack Everdine Barnarde picked up 13 of 22 attempts.

The contest followed the march-past and opening ceremony of the 2025 edition of the annual competition held in Swetes, after it was postponed by a week due to the death of nine-year-old Chantel Crump.

President of the netball association and former national goal-shoot, Karen Joseph, urged the teams to compete at a high level on the court while displaying camaraderie and friendship off it.

Teams from Clare Hall, Gray’s Farm, Five Islands, Willikies, Seaglans (Seatons and Glanvilles combined), All Saints, Bolans and Swetes are all set to compete in the league with matches scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays at courts across the island.

Seven villages will compete in the Women’s Division and four teams in the Mixed Division. The series is sponsored by Cool & Smooth, LIAT 2020 Limited and Antigua Generators.
