A Cabinet-appointed Committee led by Dr. Kwasi K. Tonge of the UWI Five Islands Campus is currently gathering data to assess the societal impact of marijuana decriminalization. The group aims to complete its work by the end of July, using surveys and focus groups to capture views from a wide cross-section of society, including students, medical professionals, educators, and Rastafarians.

The Committee plans to survey around 10% of the population and is encouraging continued public participation, stressing that community input is key to shaping future policy. A survey link and QR code have been released as part of the data collection effort, which responds to public concerns about rising marijuana use since decriminalization.
