The United Taxi Association has sought clarification from the government on new license fees implemented by the Transport Board. During a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, President Ian Joseph and Deputy Ian Richards expressed concerns over what they believed was an exemption for their members.

The Cabinet confirmed that all vehicles, including taxis, must pay a $2 weekly fee ($100 annually), which will support repayment of a $100 million road repair loan. Taxi drivers also raised concerns about poor road conditions near certain hotels, which the Cabinet agreed to forward to the Ministry of Works.
