Two men from John Hughes have been committed to stand trial at the September sitting of the Criminal Assizes in Antigua and Barbuda, facing multiple charges including firearm possession, robbery, and drug offences.

Zamir Amir O’Garro and Hewette Sean Weathered were jointly charged with possession of an illegal .380 pistol, over 100 rounds of ammunition, and more than 100 grams of cannabis with intent to supply.

Weathered alone faces a charge of armed robbery related to an incident at Guang Yuan Supermarket in August 2024.

The pair are also accused of robbing Andy Benjamin in March 2024, allegedly stealing a silver bracelet, cash, and U.S. currency in violation of the Larceny Act.

Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel ordered the trial after reviewing witness testimony and evidence.
