Members of the Antigua & Barbuda National Cadet Corps, accompanied by senior officers of the Antigua & Barbuda Defence Force; Lieutenant Colonel Eugene Philip and Lieutenant Colonel Alando Michael, paid a heartfelt visit to Lt (Ret’d) Donald Thomas Richards MM, the founding Commandant of the Corps.

Lt Richards, who served from 1973 to 1984, was a visionary leader and military pioneer whose passion for youth development laid the foundation for what the Cadet Corps represents today.

Under his leadership, the ABNCC instilled discipline, patriotism, and service in hundreds of young men and women across the nation.

He was instrumental in introducing structured military training for youth, expanding opportunities for female cadets, and integrating community service into the cadet experience.

His contributions have left an indelible mark not only on the Cadet Corps but on the Defence Force and Antigua & Barbuda as a whole.

We salute his unwavering dedication and honour the path he carved for future generations. His legacy lives on in every cadet who wears the uniform with pride.
