A Trinidadian national is due to be sentenced on Monday after admitting to possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition discovered during a police raid in Bendals.

Sheldon Sambury, 50, pleaded guilty to having a .357 Magnum revolver and eight hollow-point rounds. He and another man, Prince Sambury, were arrested at the scene, but charges against Prince were later dropped following his not guilty plea.

Sheldon remains in custody and will return to court for sentencing on June 16.
