The police are continuing investigations into a fatal traffic collision that occurred on Sir George Walter Highway in the vicinity of Romeo Plumbing.

The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, involving a white Toyota Vellfire minivan driven by a 40-year-old male of New Winthorpes, and a pedestrian, identified as 58-year-old Kendrick Hughes of Light Foot West.

The allegations are that the driver was travelling from south to north on Sir George Walter Highway, and upon passing a parked truck on the western side of the highway, the vehicle came in contact with the pedestrian.

Emergency Medical Services shortly arrived at the scene; however, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 10:46 p.m.

The Police Administration extends sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the late Kendrick Hughes during this difficult time.
