A trespassing case involving members of the United Progressive Party (UPP) was adjourned on Wednesday to allow prosecutors time to complete disclosure documents.
The charges stem from a June 9 protest at Cinnamint Hill Estate, where opposition members visited beaches across the country to raise concerns about public access and alleged non-compliance with legal requirements.
Ahead of the court hearing, UPP member Alister Thomas told Observer Media that the warrant against him referenced unlawful entry at a Willikies property tied to the protest. He defended the demonstration as a stand against restricted beach access and inadequate emergency access routes and facilities.
Legal representation for the UPP members includes MP Sherfield Bowen, Justin Simon, and Kendrickson Kentish.
The case is expected to resume in 30 days.
