Hon. Jamale Pringle, Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in Antigua and Barbuda, has extended warm Independence Day wishes to the Government and people of Jamaica, marking the nation’s 63rd year of political independence.

In a message shared on Tuesday, Pringle acknowledged Jamaica’s progress in sectors such as education, tourism, agriculture, sports, culture, and the arts. He also made special mention of Jamaicans residing in Antigua and Barbuda, recognising their continued contributions to society.

“Today, you come together as a Nation to celebrate 63 years of Political Independence as well as decades of progress,” Pringle stated, adding that the UPP hopes the years ahead will bring “hope, prosperity and joy” to the country.

He concluded the message with a blessing: “May God continue to bless, guide and protect you.”

Jamaica officially gained independence from Britain on 6 August 1962.
