PiAngo Fest 2025 will return on 17 August at the Cades Bay Agricultural Station, showcasing products made from mangoes and Antigua’s iconic Black Pineapple.

Formerly known as Mango Fest, the event was rebranded in 2019 to highlight both fruits. This year’s programme includes an agro-processing competition aimed at helping local producers refine market-ready goods, according to Craig Thomas, IICA National Specialist in Antigua and Barbuda.

Thomas said such initiatives could boost agriculture’s GDP share, currently around 2%, with backing from agencies including IICA, the FAO and CARDI. About 60 vendors are expected, matching last year’s turnout.

Competitions will be held in eight categories, from wine and honey to jams and hot sauces, alongside the traditional mango-eating contest. Visitors can also view progress on the Black Pineapple rehabilitation project.

The festival runs from 08:00 to 20:00, with free admission.
