More than 3,000 pensioners have collected their $100 monthly utility voucher booklets under the PDV Caribe social assistance programme in the first three days of distribution.
General Manager Jellette Ralph said the process at the Multi-Purpose Cultural Centre has been “smooth” with turnout topping 1,000 people a day. The programme supports over 6,000 beneficiaries nationwide.
Booklets are being distributed by surname:
- Thursday: N–S
- Friday: T–Z
Those who miss their day can collect vouchers on Saturday between 09:00 and 13:00.
The initiative, run in partnership with Frank B. Armstrong, offers $100 a month towards APUA electricity bills. Registration opens again in November for pensioners over 65 with monthly incomes below $1,000 and no other beneficiary in their household.
