Prime Minister Gaston Browne has praised Antigua and Barbuda’s Second Chance Programme, saying it has provided educational opportunities to more than 8,000 people.

Speaking on Point FM, Browne said the initiative had helped salvage around 80% of school dropouts, with many going on to secure CSEC and CAPE passes, and some even advancing to university degrees.

He described the programme as a vital tool in promoting inclusive education, giving adults and young people another opportunity to pursue qualifications and improve their prospects.

The Prime Minister said the scheme reflected his administration’s wider focus on uplifting vulnerable groups and ensuring that no one was left behind in the country’s development.
