Antigua and Barbuda’s main hospital has issued a statement following the death of a young mother, describing the loss as “devastating and deeply felt.”

The hospital said the woman had been under continuous care, with both its medical team and her private physician involved. Staff, it added, “worked tirelessly and compassionately,” while respecting the patient’s choices.

Citing legal and ethical obligations, the hospital declined to release medical details but confirmed that all maternal deaths are subject to review to ensure standards of care.

It said it remained committed to supporting families “with compassion and dignity” during such difficult times.
