An Antiguan patient has spoken of the life-changing results of cataract surgery performed at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre (SLBMC), saying she now sees the world “in a whole new way.”

Jenifer Jacobs, who recently underwent the procedure, shared her delight at the outcome. “They say I have 20/20 vision — I don’t know what that mean but me glad for it!” she said, expressing her gratitude for the smooth process from start to finish.

Hospital officials highlighted Jacobs’ story as part of efforts to raise awareness about the benefits of cataract surgery, which can restore sight and significantly improve quality of life for patients living with clouded vision.
