Antigua and Barbuda stood alongside over 800 global leaders at the 11th HWPL World Peace Summit in Cheongju, South Korea, held under the theme _“Uniting for Peace and Fulfilling Humanity’s Duty Together.”_ Representing the twin-island state were Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Osbert Frederick and ABS host and producer Chaneil Imhoff.

During the 2025 Global Peace Education Conference, Frederick delivered congratulatory remarks, stressing that peace must be taught if it is to be lived. Drawing on his background as an educator, he noted that education remains central to building peaceful societies.

Imhoff, who is also covering the summit for ABS, is contributing to a peace journalism framework that ensures Antiguans and Barbudans remain engaged in the global dialogue on peace, education, and sustainable development.

Antigua and Barbuda’s participation reflects its role in regional and global platforms, including CARICOM and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (PARLATINO), which endorsed HWPL’s Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War in 2024.
