St. John’s Rural South Community Advocate Jermaine N. Edwards is marking her birthday today, Monday, September 22, by continuing her annual tradition of giving back. She celebrates the occasion with a donation of supplies to the Golden Grove Primary School, presented to the principal, Mrs. Joseph, and to teachers including Ms. James.

Edwards thanks them for their support and for allowing her to continue her partnership with the school.

The donation includes rulers, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and other stationery to ease the strain on teachers who often purchase supplies for their students.

Sanitary items for young girls are also part of today’s contribution, reflecting Edwards’ recognition of the wider needs faced by students.

Edwards also extends special thanks to Mr. Stafford Lewis for his vital role in making the presentation possible.

“I want to sincerely thank Mr. Stafford Lewis for his support in helping to acquire these items. Without his assistance, today’s donation would not be possible,” she says.

“Teachers are always going into their own pockets, even when they have families of their own to support. Yet they never allow their students to go without,” Edwards explains.

She emphasizes that providing assistance to teachers ensures no child is left behind, whether because of financial challenges or lost supplies.

Today’s presentation is part of an annual initiative that underscores Edwards’ commitment to the Golden Grove Primary School and to the wider community of St. John’s Rural South.

She stresses that supporting teachers directly benefits students and strengthens the foundation of society.

“This is about supporting our teachers so that they can continue supporting our children, and by doing so we build a stronger society,” she notes.

Edwards also calls on others in the community to join her efforts.

“If anyone feels they can help, I welcome their support and collaboration as we continue to build up our schools and strengthen both our children and our teachers,” she says.

Marking her birthday with this gift, Edwards reflects on the meaning of giving.

“The joy of giving is the best gift that there is. You give not to receive, but you give from the heart, and blessings will follow,” she shares.

The celebration of her birthday through this donation highlights her long-standing dedication to St. John’s Rural South and her belief that community partnerships are vital in ensuring that teachers and students have the support they need.
