Antigua and Barbuda Police are investigating a string of armed robberies that took place over a three-day span in different parts of the island, raising fresh concerns about violent crime.

The first incident occurred Sept. 16 around 10:20 p.m. in All Saints Village, where a man was attacked and robbed of his motor jeep and wallet. He sustained a cutlass wound to his left thumb and later sought medical attention.

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the case.

Two days later, on Sept. 18, a 67-year-old Hatton resident was targeted in Donovans.

Police said armed assailants tied him up, ransacked his home, and demanded money before fleeing in his Toyota Noah van with a weed whacker.

The victim managed to free himself and alert neighbors, who called authorities.

The most recent incident happened Sept. 19 around 4:50 p.m. in Creekside, where armed intruders entered a home through an unlocked door.

Police said two occupants, aged 12 and 21, were robbed at gunpoint of a gaming console, a cellphone, and a bag containing schoolbooks.

Investigators carried out searches for the stolen property but were unable to recover the items.
