JCI Antigua has announced that nominations are now open for the 2025 Youth Empowerment (YEP) Awards, an annual programme designed to highlight the achievements of some of the nation’s most inspiring young people.
The awards, scheduled for November, will honour 10 outstanding individuals whose work, leadership and commitment have made a meaningful contribution to communities across Antigua and Barbuda.
Organisers say the YEP Awards provide a platform to celebrate young people excelling in a range of fields, from the arts and technology to humanitarian service and environmental advocacy.
This year’s categories include:
- Action in Agriculture
- Courage to Care (Humanitarian)
- Enterprise through Entrepreneurship
- Information Technology Innovation
- Mental Health & Wellness Advocate
- Musical Maestro
- Visionary Leadership
- Eco-Champion (Environmental)
- Visual Vibes (Visual Arts)
- Art in Motion (Creative Arts)
Nominations can be submitted via an online form or through video submission, and will remain open until 30 September.
Chair of the organising committee, Summer Hector, said the initiative plays an important role in recognising youth contributions while encouraging continued growth and excellence.
“Honouring our young trailblazers not only shows appreciation for their hard work, but also inspires others to make a positive impact in the nation,” she said.
