LETTER: VC Bird International Airport Saved!

Antigua has succeeded in attracting home, our own internationally respected Aviator who has managed Miami Airport, and Atlanta, the world’s busiest airport.

With his own U.S. aviation services company, now globally recognized, it clearly is a sacrifice of love, to undertake the overhaul of Antigua’s small but strategically located airport, in the chain of Caribbean islands.

Antigua can count itself lucky to have survived the many years of turmoil, dating from the Allen Stanford global fraud and money laundering, to the management inefficiencies currently exhibited.

The Government must be complimented on making the decision to do the right thing, and clean up operations at our front door, which welcomes the world.

We understand the engagement includes an initial deep study of the existing airport infrastructure and administration, with a view to bringing VCBIA to the standard expected of a strategic international airport.

It is hoped that the private ownership of lands within the footprint of the airport will be resolved, even as was implored by letter of the National Hero, Sir Lester Bird, before his passing.

    Letter attached.
