Antigua’s main airport is working to restore service to its departure escalator, officials have confirmed.

Joseph Samuel, Director of Operations, said technicians from the service provider are currently on site and all necessary parts have arrived.

“We’re working on getting that serviceable as soon as possible,” Mr Samuel told reporters. “All the parts are here, so we’ll soon see this equipment fully operational at the airport.”

Passengers have recently reported delays and inconvenience due to the escalator’s malfunction. Airport authorities said they are prioritising the repair to ensure smooth passenger movement.
