Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers this morning (Friday) met with three police officers who were recently praised for going beyond the call of duty to assist a member of the public.

Constable 285 Jamilla Edwards, Constable 347 Choyan James, and Constable 241 Linton Degallerie were formally recognized at the Police Headquarters for their professionalism, compassion, and commitment to service.

The officers were lauded after they assisted a Liberta woman whose vehicle suffered a punctured tire along a dark stretch of road earlier this week. They not only changed the tire but also accompanied her to several tire shops in St. John’s to secure a replacement and returned to reinstall it.

The commendation exercise was attended by key members of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, including Superintendent of Police Rodney Ellis, who heads the division where the officers are stationed in Parham, Assistant Superintendent of Police Frankie Thomas, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Raffie Browne, and Inspector Stuart Issac.

Acting Commissioner Jeffers congratulated the trio for exemplifying the values of the police force, encouraging them to continue being ambassadors for the organization and to give their best in every interaction with the public.

In his remarks, he further encouraged the officers to remain steadfast in their commitment to excellence and to continue being true ambassadors of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

He reminded them that every interaction with the public provides an opportunity to build trust and strengthen community relations.

He said their actions reflect the true spirit of policing, one rooted in community service, empathy, and professionalism.

In recognition of their outstanding service, a letter of commendation will be placed on each officer’s personal file.
