Lawmakers will convene on Tuesday, October 14, to debate several pieces of legislation addressing price regulation, equal opportunities, passenger information, and other key policy areas, according to this week’s Cabinet press briefing.

Director General of Communications Maurice Merchant announced that Parliament “will meet on Tuesday, the 14th of October, to look at a number of items,” adding that the agenda includes “the Prices Bill to look at regulations of prices for goods and services, Dogs Registration and Control, Disabilities and Equal Opportunities, also Electronic Evidence Amendment Bill, which is essential at this time in addressing crime in Antigua and Barbuda.”

Merchant said the sitting will also consider the Advanced Passenger Information and Passenger Name Record Bill, which aims to strengthen data sharing and travel security, as well as the Eastern Caribbean Citizenship by Investment Regulatory Authority Agreement Bill and the Fatal Accidents Bill.

The government says the upcoming session reflects its effort to modernize Antigua and Barbuda’s legal framework and improve oversight in consumer protection, digital evidence, and human rights.
