A planned protest against a controversial statue on All Saints Road has been called off because of bad weather linked to Tropical Storm Jerry, organizers said late Thursday.

Christians United, a faith-based group, had scheduled the demonstration for Saturday, Oct. 11, outside Glorious Hope Ministries under the theme “The Statue Must Come Down.” The group said the decision to cancel was made out of concern for public safety.

The protest drew attention after organizers argued the statue conflicts with biblical teachings, citing Exodus 20:4–5 and Hosea 4:6.

A new date has not been announced.
