The mother of a 12-year-old girl is pursuing legal action against a bus driver who allegedly struck her daughter as she was crossing Joseph Lane after school.

According to reports, the incident occurred while the child, Jakanda Dominique, was stepping off the sidewalk. Witnesses said the bus was traveling at high speed when it hit the student, throwing her several feet. A nearby coach reportedly intervened to prevent further injury as the girl fell.

The victim suffered injuries to her leg and shoulder and has been unable to attend school since the accident. Her leg remains in a cast, and she continues to experience pain.

The mother, Clevelander Christian, said the driver initially attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by bystanders who witnessed the collision. She also alleged that the driver has not reached out to the family or shown concern since the incident.

The matter has been reported to police, and Christian has sought legal representation to pursue damages. She described the driver’s behavior as reckless and called for greater caution among public transport operators, especially during school dismissal times when children are walking along the roads.

Police have confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
