Prime Minister Gaston Browne says plans are being finalized for the Peace Beach development at Barnicle Point, a project that aims to transform dredged material into usable land and create a new coastal attraction.
According to Browne, the initiative has received approval from the Development Control Authority and environmental officials for the reuse of dredge spoils to form what he described as “viable land and a beautiful beach.”
The project will also include an artificial reef system designed to enhance marine biodiversity and improve shoreline resilience. Browne said the approach reflects the government’s commitment to applying science and sustainable engineering to coastal development.
He added that the goal is to create a “beautiful, resilient and biodiverse beach” that supports both environmental protection and tourism growth.
