The Gilbert Agricultural and Rural Development (GARD) Center has expanded its partnership with His Majesty’s Prisons by launching a new Soap Crafting Training Program aimed at rehabilitation and reintegration.

Up to twelve inmates will take part in the comprehensive initiative, which blends technical and life skills training. Alongside learning the art and science of soap making, participants will receive instruction in Life Skills, Mathematics, English, and Business Management with a focus on marketing.

These additional modules are intended to strengthen communication, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial thinking—key tools for sustainable livelihoods upon release.

According to the GARD Center, the program’s goal is to help participants transition successfully back into society through entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. By combining hands-on skills with personal development, the Center continues to champion empowerment, rehabilitation, and second chances.
