A committal hearing has been set for February next year for the man accused of causing the death of visiting Guyanese law student Joyleen Abraham.

Victor Ince, 24, of Lightfoot West, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this week, who scheduled the hearing for 11 February 2026.

Ince faces two charges: forcibly seizing and confining 19-year-old Abraham, and unlawfully causing her death.

Abraham, a University of Guyana law student, was visiting Antigua when she died on 7 May. Police say she reportedly jumped from a moving vehicle driven by Ince along a by-road between New Winthorpes Village and Jabberwock.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was seized for forensic examination, and Ince was later detained for questioning.

The case will proceed to the committal stage early next year.
