    Antigua-Led Humanitarian Alliance Dispatches Millions in Aid to Jamaica’s Hard-Hit Communities

    In a historic show of unity, local business and international humanitarian organization- Cortsland Hotel, Harmony for Humanity, and The Salvation Army have joined together as Principal Donors to dispatch millions JMD in humanitarian aid to the hardest-hit communities of Hanover and St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

    This major Antigua led response is guided and supported by distinguished diplomats and global humanitarian leaders including Major Raymoncil Pierre District Commander of Salvation Army, Mr. Pedro Corbin, Former Honorary Consul for Barbados, and. Dr. Onika Campbell-Rowe, UN.org Global Peace Ambassador and Humanitarian, Global Musical ambassador Dr Christopher Rowe “DJ SkinnyRich” and CEO Harmony for Humanity Dr. Melesha Sinclair Harris ” Lisa Harris Ministries, and Dr Jacqueline Nelson Yaadamusic LLC ” leadership reinforces the international weight and credibility of this operation.

    Large sections of Hanover remain in severe crisis, with communities still:

    Cut off by blocked or damaged roadways

    Without electricity

    Without communication

    Unable to access food, clean water, or medical supplies

    Rural districts such as Chambers Pen, Askenish, Clifton, and Mount Pleasant remain among the worst affected. Homes are destroyed, residents are trapped, and formal aid has yet to reach several remote areas.

    These communities often described as “the forgotten” are now at the forefront of this targeted relief effort.

    A Unified Partnership Strengthened by Diplomatic Leadership

    Cortsland Hotel Principal Donor

    Led by philanthropists Mr. Pedro Corbin, Former Honorary Consul for Barbados, and Mrs. Hazel Corbin, Cortsland Hotel provided the first major wave of relief, including mattresses, bedding, and essential supplies.

    Their generosity established the foundation for this ambitious multinational response.

    Harmony for Humanity Principal Donor

    Founded by Dr. Rowe (DJ SkinnyRich), Global Musical Peace Ambassador, Harmony for Humanity mobilizes cultural diplomacy, global partnerships, creative arts advocacy, and empowerment programmes.

    Under the leadership of Major Pierre, The Salvation Army lends its deep global humanitarian expertise in emergency response, logistics, and transparent distribution.

    Her diplomatic experience and global advocacy ensure best practices and strategic mobilization.

    Humanitarian operations are already underway. Relief items have been received, documented, and processed, including:

    Mattresses

    Bedding

    Toiletries

    Food items

    General emergency supplies

    A 20-foot humanitarian container is now in preparation, and logistics for shipment to Jamaica have commenced.

    All items are being coordinated under The Salvation Army, ensuring transparency, secure handling, and efficient delivery to vulnerable communities.

    Mr. Corbin, reaffirmed his commitment to the Caribbean family, expressing deep compassion for the people of Jamaica and the region’s shared spirit of unity.

    The Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams commended the humanitarian coalition, encouraging best practices, proper documentation, Lessons learned and Long-term planning for sustainable recovery.

    His direction strengthens the strategic framework guiding this relief effort.

    The Salvation Army will conduct an islandwide collection drive this Saturday, inviting the public to contribute urgently needed supplies such as: Food and water, Bedding, Clothing, Toiletries, Medical items and Children essentials

    Every item donated will move directly through The Salvation Army’s established humanitarian network for delivery to Jamaica.

    The first official round of donations has been registered, sorted, and placed into logistics planning for the upcoming shipment.

    This humanitarian effort is strengthened by the distinguished support of His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, whose wisdom, guidance, and steadfast encouragement continue to inspire national and regional service. Deep appreciation is also extended to Mr. Pedro and Mrs. Hazel Corbin of Cortsland Hotel, whose generosity and leadership as principal donors set the foundation for this relief initiative.
