    Man shot by armed attackers in Liberta

    Police are conducting investigations into a shooting incident at Liberta in the early hours of Thursday morning.

    Around 12:20 a.m., police officers attached to the Liberta Police Station responded to a report of a shooting at a residence on Hamlet Road, Liberta.

    On arrival, officers met a male occupant who reported that two masked intruders, both slimly built and dressed in black, forcibly entered his home. One is said to be approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, while the other is described as about 6 feet tall.

    It was further reported that a struggle ensued between the man and his attackers, and during the struggle he was shot in his left thigh. The assailants reportedly fled the scene with a bag containing money and several personal documents.

    The victim was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by emergency medical personnel. His injury is said to be non-life-threatening.

    The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist in identifying the suspects to contact the Liberta Police Station at 460-1001, the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913, or Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).
