The family of a woman receiving medical care has expressed deep gratitude to the public after she met her required blood-donation quota, following an outpouring of support across social media.

In a message posted online on Wednesday, relative Jean Amallion thanked community members for what she described as “overwhelming” assistance during a difficult period. She said every share, comment, prayer and blood donation had been “invaluable” as the family supports Rudisha in her ongoing fight against illness.

According to the family, hospital officials have confirmed that the necessary blood-donor target has now been met. Amallion said they were “profoundly grateful beyond what words can express”.

She added that, while the milestone marks a significant relief, the family is still asking for continued prayers as treatment continues.

The post was accompanied by a photograph of Rudisha seated and smiling, along with a message thanking donors and reminding the public that “it only takes a few minutes to create a lifetime difference.”
