Senator Dwayne George says hands-on community work remains a central part of his representation, as he joined drainage cleanup efforts in Urlings aimed at reducing flood risks.

In a statement posted Thursday, George said he was “on the ground in Urlings, personally cleaning the gutters” as part of ongoing efforts to improve drainage and prepare communities for water-related challenges.

“The work never stops,” George said. “We continue to serve the constituency with dedication and purpose, taking action where it matters most.”

He said the cleanup forms part of broader efforts focused on “cleaning waterways” and ensuring readiness for heavy rainfall, with the goal of protecting communities and keeping surroundings “safe and clean.”

George described the activity as an example of what he called “hands-on representation,” adding that it involves “working alongside the people and staying committed to the well-being of the constituency, every step of the way.”

Drainage and flooding remain recurring concerns in several communities during periods of heavy rainfall, with blocked gutters and waterways often contributing to localized flooding.
