Road crew workers across the constituency have received new protective gear as part of a safety-focused initiative led by ABLP primary candidate Randy Baltimore.

The donation included safety glasses, gloves and reflective vests, aimed at improving working conditions for crews responsible for maintaining roads and public spaces.

Mr Baltimore said the gesture was intended to recognise the essential role played by road workers and to ensure they are properly equipped to carry out their duties safely.

“Looking out for the people who keep our constituency moving is important,” he said. “It’s about safety, respect, and ensuring our workers are properly equipped as they carry out their duties each day.”

Road crew workers are often exposed to hazards including traffic, heavy equipment and adverse weather conditions, making appropriate protective gear a key component of workplace safety.

The donation forms part of wider community engagement efforts taking place during the ABLP primary campaign, with a focus on practical support for frontline workers.

No injuries were reported in connection with the initiative, and workers welcomed the additional equipment as a boost to both safety and morale.
