Minister of Works Maria Browne says the police station in St. Philip’s North will reopen on Monday, as the government moves ahead with plans for a new permanent police facility and expanded fire services in the constituency.

Addressing residents during a town hall meeting, Browne acknowledged that security has been a major concern for the community and said immediate steps are being taken to restore a visible police presence.

“The police station will reopen on Monday,” Browne told residents, drawing applause from the audience.

She said the reopening is part of a broader security plan for the area, which includes the construction of a new, modern police station to better serve the growing population of St. Philip’s North.

In addition to the new police facility, Browne indicated that fire services will also be incorporated into the constituency’s security infrastructure, strengthening emergency response capabilities.

The announcement came after residents raised concerns about community safety and the need for consistent law enforcement presence.

Browne said the government recognises the importance of security to public confidence and community development, describing it as a priority issue for the administration.

The reopening of the station and the planned expansion of services are expected to provide residents with quicker response times and a stronger local emergency presence in the coming months.
