The Ministry of Education mourns with deep sadness the passing of Ms. Lenore Henry, a towering figure whose life and work have left an indelible mark on the education system of Antigua and Barbuda.

Her contribution to national development through education was nothing short of outstanding, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.

She distinguished herself as an outstanding teacher whose passion for learning and commitment to student development set the highest standards of excellence.

She went on to serve with competence and vision as a respected and revered principal, earning the admiration of colleagues, students, and parents alike.

Her leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication further defined her service as Senior Education Officer, Deputy Chief Education Officer, and later as Acting Chief Education Officer, a role she fulfilled for one year.

Even after her tenure in senior public office, Ms. Henry continued to give selflessly to the advancement of education, having served as a teacher at the St. Joseph’s Academy, and most recently serving as Chair of the ABICE Board of Directors.

In every role she held, she exemplified service, humility, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence in education.

The Ministry of Education extends sincere condolences to her family, loved ones, former colleagues, and the wider education community. We honour her remarkable life of service and pray that her soul will repose in perpetual peace.
