The government of Antigua and Barbuda will remove the Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) on selected essential food items and school supplies for two days in April.

The measure will take effect from 10 to 11 April 2026, ahead of schools reopening after the Easter break.

Cabinet said the initiative is designed to ease financial pressure on families preparing for the new school term.

Officials expect the temporary tax cut to reduce the cost of basic goods, particularly for parents buying groceries and school supplies.

The move is part of wider efforts to provide targeted economic support during key periods of the year.
