    Ministry of Health joins with the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre to Recognize World Down Syndrome Day

    The Ministry of Health, Wellness, Environment, and Civil Service Affairs, in collaboration with the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, proudly joins the global community in recognizing World Down Syndrome Day, observed today, March 20.

    This important day is dedicated to raising awareness about Down syndrome, promoting inclusion, and advocating for the rights, well-being, and dignity of individuals living with the condition. Under the global theme of acceptance and inclusion, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to ensuring equitable access to healthcare, education, and social services for all persons, regardless of ability.

    The Ministry of Health encourages the public to play an active role in fostering a more inclusive society by showing support, challenging stigma, and celebrating the achievements and contributions of persons with Down syndrome.
