TWO MEN REMANDED TO PRISON ON FIREARM AND AMMUNITION CHARGES

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Tuesday, April 21, 2026

Two men have been remanded to His Majesty’s Prison following their appearance before the court on firearm and ammunition-related charges.

Orian Carr, 26 of Pares Village, and 25-year-old Djarie Sheppard of Willikies appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Tuesday, where they were remanded to prison until April 28, 2026.

Both men are charged with unlawful possession of one Hi-Point C9 9mm Luger pistol, unlawful possession of seven (7) 9mm matching rounds of ammunition, and fraudulent use of a license plate.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, when police officers attached to the Willikies Police Station were on mobile patrol along the Willikies Main Road and observed a blue Honda Fit motor car travelling without a front number plate.

The vehicle was intercepted, and a search conducted in the presence of both occupants led to the discovery of one 9mm pistol along with seven (7) matching rounds of ammunition inside the vehicle.

The firearm and ammunition were seized, and both men were arrested and subsequently charged.
