The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) says several communities are experiencing delays in waste collection, but has assured residents that the issue is being addressed and services will be completed by Friday.

In a press release issued Thursday, the Authority said the delays have affected Villa, Sutherlands, English Harbour, Cedar Grove/Mount Pleasant and Barnes Hill.

“In an effort to improve our services and reliability, we are updating the residents in the community below of the delayed waste collection, and we are working to resolve the issue promptly,” the NSWMA stated.

The Authority thanked residents for their patience and indicated that collection in the affected areas “will be completed by tomorrow Friday 24th April 2026.”

Residents who experience missed or delayed pickups are being encouraged to contact the NSWMA hotline at 562-1347.

The update comes as the Authority works to maintain regular waste collection schedules across the island.
