A political concert in Antigua was brought to an abrupt end on Saturday night after gunshots caused panic among thousands of attendees.

The incident occurred during a performance by newly appointed ambassador Masicka at the Rising Sun Grounds, where the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) was hosting its Red and Reddy concert.

Witnesses reported hearing more than five shots, prompting people in the crowded venue to flee in fear.

Local reports indicate that a vehicle was struck by gunfire and at least one person was injured. The extent of the injuries and the identity of the individual have not been confirmed.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear.
