The government plans to construct 50 new homes in Bolans as part of its ongoing affordable housing programme being carried out in partnership with China.

St. Mary’s South MP Dwayne George welcomed the project, describing it as a major investment that will expand the housing stock in the constituency and create opportunities for families seeking homeownership.

According to George, the initiative forms part of the government’s efforts to improve living conditions for citizens while supporting community development.

“These homes represent more than just buildings—they represent security, stability, and a brighter future for many families,” George said.

The housing development is intended to benefit low- and middle-income families, providing access to affordable homes while contributing to economic activity in the area.

George said the project reflects the government’s commitment to addressing housing needs across Antigua and Barbuda and strengthening communities through targeted investments.

He also expressed appreciation to the Government of China for its continued partnership and support.

The Antigua and Barbuda government has undertaken several housing projects in recent years with assistance from China as part of broader efforts to increase access to affordable housing and improve living standards.
