The Labour Department will host a Health and Wellness Fair on Friday, June 12, bringing together several government agencies and service providers to offer free screenings, information and support services to the public.

The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thames Street and is open to people of all ages.

Participants will have access to free health screenings through the Ministry of Health and Medical Benefits, while representatives from the AIDS Secretariat will provide HIV/AIDS testing and counseling services.

Other participating organizations include SPARC (Substance Prevention, Advocacy, Resources and Counseling), which will offer information on substance abuse prevention and treatment, and the Human Trafficking Task Force, which will conduct awareness and prevention outreach.

The Antigua and Barbuda Social Security Board will be on hand to provide information on benefits and available resources, while officers from the Immigration and Labour Department will offer guidance on labour matters and immigration-related issues.

Organizers say the fair is intended to promote healthier lifestyles, increase public awareness of available social services and connect residents with agencies that provide support and assistance.

Admission to the event is free, and members of the public are encouraged to take advantage of the screenings, consultations and educational resources available throughout the day.
