Official Statement on the Passing of Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan

It is with profound sadness that the Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda Inc. (MAAB) announces the sudden passing of Dr. Subbiah Radhakrishnan, a veteran surgeon affectionately known to all as Dr. Krishnan.

At the time of his passing, Dr. Krishnan was an active and dedicated member of our medical community, continuing his vital work at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre alongside managing his private practice.

Dr. Krishnan was a charismatic doctor and a master of his craft, possessing surgical skills that inspired all who worked alongside him. Beyond his exceptional clinical capabilities, he was a pillar of guidance—serving as a generous mentor and trusted advisor to countless medical professionals in Antigua and Barbuda.

On behalf of the Executive and general membership of the MAAB, we extend our deepest, most heartfelt condolences to our colleague, his beloved wife, Dr. Saravana Sabharmathi, and his children.

Our thoughts and prayers are firmly with his family, colleagues, patients, friends, and the entire medical fraternity as we navigate this monumental loss.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Dr. Alafea Stevens, MD, PgDIP Emergency Medicine
    President
Medical Association of Antigua and Barbuda Inc.
