Additional work is still being carried out at the Office of the Information Commissioner, according to an update provided by Prime Minister Gaston Browne in Parliament.

Browne made the disclosure while responding to a question about the location of the office.

The prime minister said he had received an update from the Member of Parliament for St. John’s City South indicating that work on the facility has not yet been fully completed.

“I’m told that there’s still some work to be done on the building,” Browne said.

He added that the office remains located in the Francis Trading building on High Street.

No timeline was provided for the completion of the outstanding works.

Information Commissioner’s Office Expected to Be Ready Within Six Months

The Office of the Information Commissioner is expected to be ready for occupancy within six months, Prime Minister Gaston Browne told Parliament.

The timeline was provided in response to a question about when the office would be prepared for the Information Commissioner to take up occupancy.

“The AG just advised me within six months,” Browne said.

The update follows Browne’s earlier indication that work remains ongoing at the office’s location in the Francis Trading building on High Street.

No additional details were provided regarding the scope of the remaining work or the specific date by which the office is expected to become operational.
