Air quality across Antigua and Barbuda remains in the good range, with minimal concentrations of Saharan dust currently affecting the twin-island nation, according to the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service.

In a Saharan Dust Air Quality Bulletin issued at 12:15 p.m. on June 19, the Meteorological Service reported an Air Quality Index (AQI) between 20 and 40 and maintained an Alert Level I designation.

The bulletin stated that levels of particulate matter, including PM2.5 and PM10, were minimal and that no action was required by the public. Health officials also reported no expected health implications from current air quality conditions.

While air quality is considered safe, the Meteorological Service noted that people with respiratory or heart disease, older adults and children remain the groups most vulnerable to changes in air quality.

The agency encouraged residents to continue monitoring updates through its official communication channels, including its website and social media platforms, as conditions can change.

The bulletin was issued by Meteorologist Dale Destin.
