The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy has announced that PiAngo Fest will not be held in 2026, citing competing priorities, available resources, operational requirements and uncertainty surrounding this year’s mango crop.

In a statement released Tuesday, the ministry said the decision followed “careful consideration” and was influenced by weather-related impacts on the national mango crop, particularly the ministry’s ability to predict the peak harvest period.

Officials said the decision was made to safeguard the festival’s long-term sustainability.

“While this decision was not taken lightly, the Ministry believes it is necessary to ensure the festival’s continued growth and long-term sustainability,” the statement said.

The ministry noted that PiAngo Fest has become one of Antigua and Barbuda’s flagship agricultural events, bringing together farmers, agro-processors, vendors, entertainers and families while promoting local products, supporting small businesses and increasing public awareness of agriculture’s role in national development.

Despite the cancellation, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to the festival and thanked exhibitors, sponsors, performers, volunteers and patrons for their continued support over the years.

It said the break in 2026 will allow officials to review and strengthen the festival’s framework, partnerships and overall direction to ensure future editions continue to provide value to participants and the wider public.

The ministry added that further updates on plans for PiAngo Fest will be shared at a later date.
