ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — The Fisheries Division will hold a training session on fisheries laws and regulations on Friday, July 17, as part of its Fisher Professional Development Training Programme.
The session will run from 10 a.m. to noon in the meeting room at the Point Wharf Fisheries Complex on Lower North Street.
According to a notice issued by Chief Fisheries Officer Ian Horsford, the module is one of the requirements for obtaining a local fisher’s licence and for upgrading from trainee fisher to professional fisher.
The division said the training is aimed at newly registered fishers and experienced fishers who have not yet completed the course. However, all fishers are welcome to attend, subject to available space.
Interested participants are asked to reserve a space by calling 462-1372 and should have their Fisher ID available when registering.
The Fisheries Division said the training forms part of its ongoing professional development programme for fishers.
